Our setting up camp by Steven and Jared was expertly over-seen by Mum/Nan/Faye. We camped in our usual private spot where we were serenaded by the thrilling trilling of chatty birdlife and the loud sounds of the nearby surf that had travelled all the way from Africa. The weather was perfect; warm, clear and not a breath of wind.
At night, Jared animatedly instructed us on the names of the stars and planets, a subject close to his heart.
Steven cooked a gourmet meal of chops, onions and vegies washed down with a cup of brewed Gold label Lavazza coffee.
Boo, our dog, ate the bones, the wildlife ate the scraps
and the rest of the rubbish went into a bag hanging from a tree.
Our sense of solitude was unfazed by the
knowledge that other campers were sharing similar,
private conditions nearby; nearby but with the same sense of the quiet and
peaceful sounds and smells of the bush.
